Angèle Thiessen

 Angele is our office manager. She completed her training through McKay Career Training in 2001 and has been with SPC since that year.  She will be your first point of contact at SPC and keeps our office running smoothly. She was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and moved to Saskatoon in 1995.  She has 2 adult children, one with a passion for computer video game programing and the other with an interest in cooking. 

 

Gabriela Garcia

Gabriela (she/her) completed her training through Saskatoon Business College in 2020. She was born in El Salvador and moved to Saskatoon in 2013. She has always had a passion for working in health care and will be going back to school to pursue Pediatric Speech Language Pathology in the future. When Gabriela is not at work, she enjoys kickboxing, coffee and curling up in a blanket reading books.

 

Dr. Erin Woods
MD, FRCPC

Erin Woods is a general pediatrician who provides care to children with a variety of medical issues. She trained in both BC and Alberta and has been practicing Pediatrics in Saskatchewan for over a decade. In addition to her clinical work, she is passionate about advancing physician training and currently holds the faculty position of Associate Program Director for the Saskatchewan Pediatric Residency Program through the University of Saskatchewan. She enjoys the people and the outdoor landscape of this province alongside her husband Rob and their 2 teenage children.

Dr. Carla Krochak
MD, FRCPC

Dr. Carla Krochak is the original founder of Saskatoon Pediatric Consultants. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1984. Following a rotating internship at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, she underwent specialty training in Pediatrics at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Manitoba. After completion of training, she practiced in Winnipeg before returning to Saskatoon to set up her pediatric practice. 

In addition to an active general pediatric practice, she has held several leadership roles within medical organizations both regionally and provincially. She holds a faculty appointment with University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and is actively involved with teaching medical students and residents. 

She loves Saskatchewan's 'Living Skies' and is proud to call Saskatoon home.

Dr. Mahli Brindamour
MD, FRCPC

Mahli Brindamour (she/her) is a general paediatrician with a special interest in global health, refugee and Indigenous health. Along with her pediatric practice at Saskatoon Pediatric Consultants, she provides paediatric care to refugee children at the Refugee Engagement and Community Health (REACH) Clinic, and newborn care to babies living at Sanctum 1.5, a transitional supportive home for at-risk newborns and their mothers. With several of her SPC colleagues, she does monthly outreach clinics in La Loche, Ile à la Crosse and Stony Rapids in Northern Saskatchewan. Born and raised in Québec, she has made Saskatchewan her home and enjoys the sunny Prairies with her partner Ryan, their two children, and their dog Marie-Georges.

Dr. William Quan
MD, FRCPC

William Quan is a general pediatrician who loves all aspects of child health, from newborns to adolescents. He was born and raised in Toronto before moving to Winnipeg to do his pediatric residency training and work for a few years. He got accredited to work in the USA, leading him to practise medicine for a number of years in the Boston area. Eventually, his family wanted to return to Canada, resulting in him settling in Saskatoon. He is happily married, raising two adorable kids of his own. In his spare time, he loves to cook and invent new dishes, incorporating many different culinary techniques and cuisines from all around the world. Travelling, whether domestic or international, is also one of his top passions. Finally, he is fervently zealous for photography! Don’t be surprised if you run into Dr. Quan with his beloved camera taking pictures all around the city and province of Saskatchewan!

 

Dr. Linda Xiao
MD, FRCPC

Linda Xiao (she/her) is a general pediatrician at Saskatoon Pediatric Consultants. She sees kids with all general pediatric issues in her practice and is also involved in the complex cardiac clinic as well as cleft lip and palate clinic at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. She is a part of the pediatric team that travels to La Loche, Ile a la Crosse and Stony Rapids, providing general pediatric clinics to Northern Saskatchewan. Linda grew up in Saskatoon and is proud to continue to call Saskatchewan home. She loves getting outside, trying new things, and spending time with her husband and children.

Dr. Tanya Marciniuk
MD, FRCPC

Dr. Tanya Marciniuk (she/her) completed her MD degree at the University of Saskatchewan and her residency program in General Pediatrics through the University of British Columbia in Victoria.  Tanya grew up in Saskatoon and is delighted to be back in Saskatoon, joining Saskatoon Pediatric Consultants after several years of training and working on Vancouver Island.  

Tanya enjoys seeing a variety of general pediatric patients, from neonates to adolescents, and holds a faculty appointment with the University of Saskatchewan as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.  In addition to office practice, she works at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and is committed to teaching and mentoring the next generation of young physicians and Pediatricians. 

When not at work Tanya likes spending her time hiking, swimming, snowboarding, and being outside!

Dr. Ali Markland
MD, FRCPC

Ali Markland (she/her) is a general pediatrician here at Saskatoon Pediatric Consultants. She completed her medical degree in Ontario and was happy to return home to complete her training in pediatric residency here in SK. She sees kids for all general pediatric issues, but has a special interest in the mental health of children and adolescents. She is one of the physicians working with Saskatoon's local eating disorder team- Youth Nourishing Connections. Ali grew up in a small Saskatchewan community and loves providing care to smaller communities across the province as a member of the Pediatric Division of Northern Medical Services.

 

Dr. Samantha Holbird
MD, FRCPC

Samantha Holbird is a general pediatrician at SPC who sees children for a wide variety of health issues across all ages. In 2020-2021, she spent time working with and learning from the developmental team at the Alvin Buckwold Child Development Centre. Along with several of her other SPC colleagues, she does monthly outreach clinics in La Loche, Ile à la Crosse and Stony Rapids in Northern Saskatchewan. Born and raised here in Saskatchewan, she is happy to call Saskatoon home with her husband and her dog, Scout.
